Barad chai Misri
It is our 5th year here and my wife and I have never
been in a more welcoming, ‘meet-on-the-street-friendly’
country than Egypt. Behind doors and inside apartment
entries we hardly know anyone but as I cycle around
Ma’adi (now in the 100’s of times) and into Tourah,
Basatien, rural Giza and beyond, I am met everywhere
with “Hello – where you from? Welcome to Egypt!” This
‘Barad chai Misri’ is a tribute to all those people. The
small ‘Pyramid-with-a-twist’ on top is a nod to the
power of the past in today’s society.
