Contemplating on the theme 'my neighbor', I realized how broad a term it is. My neighbor is not only the person living next to me, nor a few blocks away, neither the one sitting beside me in a bus, train or plane, nor in the same row at a musical in a theatre. He is not just the artist displaying his painting close to mine, nor the one sharing my tools in a workshop. My neighbor is everybody. My neighbor is 'the other', the other who can be of a different (diverse) culture, faith, or race. This exhibition, 'my neighbor', is bringing artists together to communicate virtuous meanings such as compassion, intimacy, warmth and devotion, in an attempt to shed further light on the critical situation our relationship with each other has become and try to make us reconnect together once more.
