Artist's Statement

Behind this mask (who are you?)

10,000 LE (US $1820)

My painting represents my feelings about all religions and my acceptance to them. It is a woman sitting on the globe like the Pharaonic scribe who represents knowledge and culture. The woman has four arms like the Indian goddess (Lakshmi) the goddess of beauty, purity and fertility and who is the favorite goddess of women. One hand is holding a Synagogue while the other is holding a Church. The other hands are holding a Mosque and a Buddhist temple. The woman has an embryo representing Africa. She is wearing a double-faced mask and Cleopatra’s crown. Above her head there is Atoun, being a mono God. All around the woman are ornaments from all Religions.

So if I ask you…behind this mask (Who are you)? You will be a human being.
