Biography

Mohamed Youssef, studied art in Cairo’s Academy and obtained his degree in 1967. He also received a Master of Photography and obtained the first prize in 1968 & 1990 contests in Abu Dhabi.

Based in Cairo (Heliopolis), where his atelier is located, his paintings are located throughout the world with private collectors. He takes his inspiration from oriental culture, people and nature. Major subjects of his are colorful fish, horses, Bedouin faces, Nubian profiles, and women. The construction and vivid colors play a major part of his art.

Among his many accomplishments, he was selected by the Pyramisa hotel chain for the decoration of their rooms. Some of his work has been printed for lithographs in the Pyramisa resort hotel in Sharm el Sheik. Others places that hosts his work are: Germany Embassy in Cairo, Petroleum companies in the Gulf, Ministries of Education, Tourism and Foreign Affairs in Cairo, etc.
