Hugh Sowden has traveled extensively
around the world exhibiting. His first solo
exhibition was held with the British Council,
Dalla, in 1969. He arrived in Egypt in 1981 as
head of the art department at the British
International School of Cairo.
Presently, Hugh is working as a full-time
artist which includes interior, exterior and
landscape design. He also works as an art and
design examiner for the international
baccalaureate.
Hugh has held approximately 36 exhibitions.
His major works in Egypt include the interior
and frescoes of All Saint’s Cathedral, Zamalek,
Cairo, the design of the British School of
Alexandria, and the four 30 painting
installations, one of which (Dahshour) is
illustrated in the Autumn 2009 edition of
Obelisque magazine in Cairo. |
